PACE: LD (Parents Advocating / Children Excelling) Advocacy Training Program

Eligibility Criteria: Parents of children or youth with a diagnosed learning disability

Description: This interactive parent advocacy course will assist parents to understand different types of learning disabilities; develop an understanding of legislation, systems, and resources that may affect and assist children and youth with learning disabilities; understand their rights as a parent of a child or youth with a learning disability; and to become a more confident advocate for their child(ren). This course is facilitated by a local psychologist and LDAWE's Executive Director.

Program Fee: $150 for non-LDA members or $100 for LDA members per 5-week session. Subsidies may be available.

PACE: ADHD (Parents Advocating / Children Excelling) Advocacy Training Program

Eligibility Criteria: Parents of children or youth with an ADHD diagnosis

Description: This interactive parent advocacy course is designed to help parents understand the latest ADHD research and treatment options. It will also give parents the tools to advocate effectively for their child(ren) within the school system. This course is facilitated by a local psychiatrist, local psychologist, and LDAWE's Executive Director.

Program Fee: $150 for non-LDA members or $100 for LDA members per 5-week session. Subsidies may be available.
